Intergeo Platform now available at http://i2geo.net
========================================================================

We are happy to announce that the first beta version of the Intergeo
Platform is now available at http://i2geo.net, featuring more than
3500 traces of interactive animations, constructions and exercises, and
a growing number of annotated resources.

While everything is still very rough, and many features don't work
as they should, we nevertheless think that the platform is usable
and we invite you to join us in beta-testing. Your feedback
is highly appreciated.

Of course, we will announce the next iteration of the platform
on this list when it is ready, so please stay tuned!

Looking for Country Representatives
========================================================================

Intergeo wants to connect teachers, students and researchers all
over Europe, coming from different cultures, speaking different
languages, and having different needs. While mathematical
content can often be understood even if it comes from a different
country, it is a heavy task to make it browsable and searchable
for everybody.

This is the reason for Country Representatives in Intergeo: They
should connect the project partners with the relevant people
from teachers' associations, the government, schools, and so on.
Thus we try to nominate a Country Representative for each
of the 28 countries in the European Community.

Is your country already covered? Find out at
http://inter2geo.eu/en/partners ! If not - please help us by pointing
us to suitable representants for you country. Just send a mail
to office at inter2geo.eu or reply to this mail.

========================================================================
Annual Report Available
========================================================================

Intergeo started in October 2007. If you want to know what we did so
far, check out our Annual Report at

	http://www.inter2geo.eu/files/D1.4-AnnualReport-Y1.pdf

All project partners are committed to do their work as public as
possible. So you can find all our deliverables on our website at

========================================================================
Classroom Testing starting in January 2009
========================================================================

We want to offer more than "just" a search portal for interactive
geometry content. Therefore, we will test selected resources in the
classroom and add the results of our tests to the database. This
data will be used to improve both the search tools and resources
themselves.

You can help - if you are interested in doing classroom testing, then
send us a message to wp6 at inter2geo.eu or the Intergeo office by
replying to this mail. You don't have to be experienced in using
interactive geometry software -- we address all teachers from
technology experts to novices.

========================================================================
Spread the Word!
========================================================================

Tell your colleagues and friends about Intergeo. We have to reach
as many people as possible in order to reach our goal -- improve the
access to digital geometry content for education for all!

The easiest way to stay up-to-date about the progress of the project
and to learn about new releases of the platform and exciting content
is to subscribe to the Intergeo Newsletter (as you already did). Just
go to

	http://inter2geo.eu/en/newsletter

and subscribe to receive the next issues.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for this issue of the newsletter. The next one will be
sent in January 2009.

		With best regards, Ulli Kortenkamp (Coordinator)
